Vintage Western Electric 205D Vacuum Tube tested 205-D Picture(s) and Description:
Vintage Western Electric 205-D Vacuum Tube with original Box. Tested on a Westmore 501 (Triplett 3444) Tube Tester. Written on box "taken from amplifier March 21, 1934". (only 38 years before I was born) Tested for shorts - good Tested for gas - good Glass is tight in base Tested for gm as follows filament voltage of 4.5 Plate voltage of 250 Grid bias of -15 volts with these settings: gm = 1150 Plate current = 12ma Listed data for new is gm = 1670 and plate current of 19ma This is the last of three 205-D tubes that I am selling, the other two tested as new however as you can see this one is weak compared to the datasheet specs testing at just over half what the manufacturer calls for. This tube was tested with a manual set-up of the tube tester as I do not have a socket on my tester for this tube. It was tested in a spare tube socket jumped from known socket pins on the tester. It was tested at a true 250 volts as this is not a proportional tester. You are welcome to a seven day inspection period. Refund will be issued if not satisfied so long as the tube returns in the same shape and condition it was sent out. Buyer is responsible for return shipping charges. Shipping charges include insurance. Be sure to check out my other items including a vintage RCA IP501A Navy shipboard receiver!
